Ammonite glass block
Running your fingers over the surface of this glass ammonite block you can feel the chambers and the depth of the carving. The design was hand drawn from an original ammonite that would have lived in the Jurassic oceans around 65 million years ago and the etching captures its natural beauty and complexity. The front of the glass is smooth and the back is carved to allow the light to penetrate deeper into the block giving a stunning effect that changes depending on the light source. This reassuringly substantial glass block is a small sculpture that can be used as a paperweight or simply as a piece of modern, sleek, home decor. An unusual gift for anyone fascinated by fossils or who just wants a piece of beautiful art in their life.
This jade glass block is 7.5cm wide, 10cm high, a depth of 1.8cm and weighs approximately 370g. It comes in a black foam lined gift presentation box. Postage and packing is free within the UK.
